♥ cloudy memory.

while i can tell you with absolute certainty that i count cloud atlas as one of
my favorite books of all time-- i cannot, for the life of me, recall
what it is actually about...

does that ever happen to you??

i am hoping that the movie will jog my memory.
it looks pretty amazing!

♥ ring a ding ding.

why is it that i am only now visiting your dreamy online jewelry shop
and feasting my eyes upon your glorious antique ring offerings, which i would
have gladly demanded my husband (then boyfriend) buy me when i was
at a complete loss for words to describe what i wanted to wear
on my ring finger forever and ever?

because, although i adore my engagement ring,
i think i could have been equally happy with one of yours.

thank goodness there are always occasions when jewelry is
an appropriate gift ;) and now i know exactly where to look.

♥ a fool for tulle. part four.

i am not sure how i feel about the cindy loo hoo hair
or the long velvet gowns worn by the models at
tulle pieces are to die for.

♥ party time! excellent!

i think it's pretty clear that the oversized michael kors watch
is the guest of honor at many a style blogger's sparkling arm party.

my brother accidentally broke & sweetly replaced mine,
so i am looking forward to celebrating it's lovely return-
and maybe, finally, learn to read it properly.

♥ head in the clouds.

just because a day is layered in endless shades of grey,
does not make it any less lovely. happy sunday.

♥ kids these days.

we launched forever 21 girls today at work,
and while everyone was wondering who on earth
would buy their child a miniature pair of leather shorts,
i remembered a tumblr i had seen on my friend marissa's blog
that would definitely have little ones rocking leather shorts and the like.

check out children with swagthese kids are too cool for school.
and probably too young for it anyway.

♥ christmas in july.

ages upon ages ago, nick, my cousin, jaimee, and i
hosted a christmas in july party at our shared apartment.

it was a magical time-
and my favorite parts of the evening were:

setting up our little christmas tree in the middle of summer,
playing the hawaiian christmas song over & over again,

my bestfriends coming to the party cleverly dressed as "tinsel,"
the ice luge that someone brought- and i forgot to test out!

pairing my fluorescent green bra with my red & white dress,
and the cheesy hawaiian shirt i made my saint nick wear.

have you ever celebrated a christmas in july?

♥ all laid out.

i am smitten with the artful display of vintage pieces
and everyday things from the closet boutique.
if i were ever to have a shop, this is how
i'd like to offer my wares- in an
 ordinarily extraordinary way.

♥ love was a feeling completely bound up with color, like thousands of rainbows superimposed one on top of the other.

these neon necklaces from pure essentia's  S/S 2012 collection
are a true feast for the eyes, and look to me (as advertised),
like 100% handmade bliss.

♥ and the sea is just a wetter version of the sky.

if rosy retrospection serves me well, i will look back fondly on our weekend beach trip,
and will forget all about the 1.5 hours it took to get there, the $15 charge just to get in,
the determined bites from the green heads, the disappointing peanut butter & jelly
sandwiches, and the fact that after two short hours, nick announced,
"i'm bored," and i sadly had to agree with him.

♥ the blo by blo.

on friday night, i attended the pink-carpet opening of blo,
the first blow dry bar in boston's south end.

the salon was buzzing with activity as clients of all ages had their hair
shampooed (twice!), conditioned, blown-dry, and coiffed to perfection
as they sipped pink champagne and nibbled delicious cupcakes.

i was given the hair menu and asked to choose which "blo on the go"service i was
interested in. since my hair is super short at the moment, i just asked my
blow stylist to make my hair look pretty ;)

while sitting in the hot seat, i spotted some of my favorite blog friends
in various stages of their blo-jobs.

lei ann was just leaving when i first came in.
her multi-colored locks looked amazing in this knotted ponytail.
i totally cringed with hair envy.

kristen wanted big southern hair to go with her fabulous printed dress.
i didn't get to see the finished result, but the process was fun ;)

and najeema got a gorgeous head of loose/casual curls.

and while my hair didn't come out looking drastically different than it normally does,
my bob felt bouncier and shinier than it has in ages ;)

it was a wonderful to have a luxurious blo-dry experience
with my best gals, right in the ♥ of boston.
