♥ these woods are lovely dark and deep,

but i have promises to keep,
and miles to go before i sleep,
and miles to go before i sleep.

i recently came upon an article in the latest issue of boston home magazine
about an amazing architectural project by moskow linn architects.

lovingly referred to as the "swamp hut," this project was originally a dream
of architect keith moskow who wanted to build a prefabricated
prairie cottage for his in laws that would have the qualities of a boat
and appear to float over the wheatlands in kansas.

years later, this dream of a floating wooden structure came into
fruition in the unlikeliest of places: the only buildable plot of land on
moskow's family inheritence of 10 acres of wetlands in newton, mass!

built in 2008 in a mere five weeks with the help of friends and family,
architects keith moskow and robert linn now have what they call, a
"glorified campsite" where there families can come all through the summer.

this wooden structure stands on 12 foot legs and is comprised of four
separate huts: two for sleeping, one for cleansing, and one for gathering.
all are located around a central deck with a fire pit that looks like an
ideal place for s'more making and scary story telling!
